Faba beans are also commonly known as Broad beans or Fava beans. Faba beans are a particularly rich source of soluble fiber, protein and folate, as well as many other beneficial nutrients, including potassium and magnesium.

We prefer cooking with the dried versions for many reasons. They are more economical, they don't contain unnecessary advitives like sodium plus you can buy them absolutely package free this way too!

Faba beans need to be soaked and then cooked for up to 45 minutes before you use them in recipes. Just simply pop them in the fridge to soak overnight before you use them, drain and cook them up in a pot with loads of water, bringing it to the boil and then letting it simmer for 10-45 minutes. Once cooked, use them straight away or freeze them to have on hand whenever a recipe that calls for them.
